Dances for SolidarityDances for Solidarity transcends societal biases and allows system-affected people to transform their circumstances and reclaim freedom by creating movement in conversation with the criminal justice system. We co-create and perform dances with system-affected individuals that give voice to feelings about confinement and inequalities. This choreographic collaboration empowers incarcerated individuals, particularly those in solitary confinement, creating a connection with the outside community. We are headquartered in New York City but collaborate with people in prisons across the United States by co-creating movement scores through the mail. Learn more about Dances for Solidarity here.
