LEIA SQUILLACE
Leia Squillace is a theatrical director and artist activist whose work centers community-building and explores themes of radical humanization. She takes on projects that challenge her and her audience to find commonality and humanity where it is least expected. Leia is the co-founder of Herd, a female-drive, environmentally sustainable theatre company, for whom she recently directed TROUT STANLEY and the national tour of I KILLED THE COW. She has designed community engagement programming for Roundabout Theatre Company and Asolo Repertory Theatre and facilitated theatre workshops with the Prison Creative Arts Project. Leia is a recipient of the 2020 Sokoloff Arts Creative Fellowship and a proud graduate of the University of Michigan.
